Humectants are hygroscopic substantces that means it has the capacity to absorb water from air.

It is found in many cosmetics to achieve the desired moisturization. The common humectants are like glycerine, polyglycols etc. The skin’s natural humectant is hyaluronic acid.

Hyaluronic acid helps to maintain the natural hydration of the skin. Well, I know an excellent eye cream in which it  is incorporated thus preventing dryness around the eyes and and wrinkles, is Eyelastin.
